Assessment and treatment recommendations
Some men who commit sexual offences and who pose a risk of repeated offending have deviant sexual interests and/or a high sex drive which may be amenable to treatment with medication. Such treatment is given alongside other aspects of treatment (such as psychological treatment) and management (such as supervision in the community) to reduce the risk of further sexual offending and facilitate rehabilitation and community integration.
We can undertake specialist assessments of men in custodial or community settings to ascertain whether medication may be an appropriate treatment. If it is, then we can produce an assessment and treatment plan, in collaboration with the referring agency, the individual’s GP and the individual.
We can also provide ongoing psychiatric reviews of men being treated with these medications.
